Aspros Potamos is an old abandoned settlement in south east Crete. The houses, made of local natural stone and red soil, have been renovated and restored into guest houses with respect to the nature, without losing their traditional architecture. Each house is above one another and the roof of the lower one is used as the balcony of the upper one.

The eco – friendly complex has no electrical devices, electricity and electrical power outlets in the houses. The only areas that one can use electrical power is the reception. For those who want internet connection, the library of the complex offers free Wi-Fi to its guests. The electricity used in these areas is generated by a photo-voltaic system.

The decoration inside the houses is quite plain. The rooms are lit with candles and oil lamps. Beds are made of stone and the old decorative objects bring a more traditional look.
