Astypalaia is one of the most beautiful and unspoiled Greek islands, and filmed between a dip and another relaxing dip. First of all I would like to thank my girlfriend (travel with a filmmaker can be awful!) for her patience.
The film was shot handheld and with a monopod, with the Blackmagic Pocket Cinema Camera in raw mode, with 24-105 lens and metabones speedbooster (no viewfinder or field monitor).
It has been a hard work because it was practically impossible to saw what I was shooting, focusing, exposure and framing… And under the Greek sun it’s impossible to see nothing on the screen. It is an art work! Entirely shot in the morning, midday and afternoon. Edited and graded by myself.
