About 20Km north east of Chania town in Crete we discover one of the most impressive and peaceful monasteries in Greece, the Aghia Triada (Holy Trinity) Tsagarοlon Monastery. It is the largest monastery in Crete with a big yard that accommodates a large chapel in the middle. There are also many smaller chapels. Its architectural style is Venetian and Cretan Renaissance.
The monastery was possibly founded in the 17th century by two brothers named Tsagarοlon. In 1855 it was renovated and in 1892 it became a Theologian School. There is also a small museum with various heirlooms. Its ground is planted with olive trees and vineyards. You can taste and buy the wine and olive oil they produce from the gift shop.
