If you wonder how Porto Katsiki and Egremni beaches in Lefkada (Lefkas) look like this summer (2016) after the earthquake and whether they are accessible then read on. As we haven’t visited the island this summer ourselves, we just had a look on Tripadvisor to see what visitors who visited the island in June 2016 think so.
Lemnos is a Greek island located in the northern part of the Aegean Sea. The two lakes where about 5000 flamingos live are top attractions for those who adore nature. Near Aliki Salt Lake is another small lake called Asprolimni. Located on the northeast coast of Lemnos, it is an important area part of the NATURA 2000 network. An abundance of rare plants and animals, especially birds are found here. The seasonal flamingo population here and the Aliki Salt Lake are the largest in Europe.
On the northwestern part of Kimolos, west of the “Sklavos” height, there is a huge stone mushroom, which the people of the island call “Skiadi”. A natural monument that lies in the middle of a barren plateau with excellent view: overlooking the southwestern and western coasts of the island (Ellinika, Mavrospilia, Athinia) and a large part of Milos.
Tzoumerka is a mountain range in Northwestern Greece, Epirus. Nature is very wild and the whole area is unspoiled by modern civilization. People visit Tzoumerka for its natural beauty, gorges, rocks, rivers and lakes. It mainly attracts nature lovers and those who adore outdoor activities. On the slopes of Tzoumerka stand its villages. This is where tradition meets history and life away from the stressful cities. Tzoumerka mountain range has entered the European network Natura 2000. Last December we visited Tzoumerka and below are the highlights of our trip.
