Lemnos is a Greek island located in the northern part of the Aegean Sea. The two lakes where about 5000 flamingos live are top attractions for those who adore nature. Near Aliki Salt Lake is another small lake called Asprolimni. Located on the northeast coast of Lemnos, it is an important area part of the NATURA 2000 network. An abundance of rare plants and animals, especially birds are found here. The seasonal flamingo population here and the Aliki Salt Lake are the largest in Europe.

If you visit Santorini (Σαντορίνη) and want a different beach experience you should definitely visit Red Beach (Κόκκινη Άμμος) in Akrotiri. Contrast colors are its main characteristics. The bright turquoise of the sea and the red volcanic cliff next to each other bring wonderful and breathtaking views. We believe that this beach is the most impressive beach in Santorini.

After an exciting one hour of walking / swimming, we reached this stone bridge. This is the point where you can walk upon the rocks and reach the top of the bridge. The view is breathtaking. From there you can go back to the river or you can follow the path on the right hand side (follow the red spots). It takes about 45 minutes to go back to where you firstly started walking in the river. We chose the second option. We were completely wet by the river and we really enjoyed walking in the dense green nature.
